OLD NEWS is an artlight installation from Ruwe Bolster that brings old stories back to life. Originally designed to show the history of the multi tenant building “CITYSIDE” in Amsterdam, OLD NEWS combines up-cycled glass pendant lamps with soft pink paper artworks made from the Dutch Financial Times (Het Financieele Dagblad). CITYSIDE used to be a paper factory before it was transformed into an office building. That’s why interior architect Sheryl Leysner designed art lights with re-used old news papers to fill up the void that connects the entrance with the first floor. The transformation of the financial newspapers into art also contains a deeper message for the viewers of these art lights: money is not what makes the world go round, love is.
